Rigging question in maya

Hey , when i rig an high poly character i use influence object in adition to the joints , my question is :
is it possible to use influence objects for a low poly character the will be used in a game engine ? , or i should trust joints only ?
i mean if i will load the character in the game engine wont the influence objects will be visible ? or i should use them and all i got to do is hide them in game engine ? ,

I have never personally tried such a task for gaming.

But for setting influence objects onto low poly meshes didn't realy give good results in my renders. It demanded soime long hours of settings.
Especially if you tend to use normal maps. I would advise you alot of luck as you will be needing it.

And for loading them .. well think of it this way.. if you have ever made a cloth cloak or a long trench coat? The dynamics aren't TOO diffrent.
So visibility is not really an issue.

Sorry can't help you any more on this.
You may want to take a look at the Realtime/Low poly art thread aswel
