Angry HELP - Unwrap not Unwrapping

I use Max6 and Windows XP, and whenever I try to use UVW Unwrap nothing appears on the "Edit UVWs" window. I just get an empty graph with no objects/faces to edit. The filter will be on. Apparently this happens only with Max6 vs XP. When I tried it with Windows 98 I had no problems.
Does anyone know why this happens and is there a solution....
