? about 3d procedural texture in maya
how do you parent a 3d procedural texture to an object so that it stays put when the object is animated?? As I have it now, the texture moves all over the animated object

Thankyou, funny thing is I knew that, but it wasn't working. I believe you need to do the parenting before the object is bound to any joints, or before those joints are animated. Anyway, all i needed it for was 360 degree rotation so i parented the 3d texture placement node to the root joint of the character, works fine. cheers!
