SPEEDPAINTING CHALLENGE nr.37 - New York A.D. 3006
Hello folks!
This week's painting topic will be to paint New York, that is set in 3006 year ( A.D. - Anno Domini - it's latin "the year of Lord", if someone didn't know ). You can use reference for it, you can make up totally from the beginning. I would reference on the Ryan Church's works He's got really nice hi-tech style. Be creative, have fun! Voting starts on 8th of January 2006 - Sunday - so you have two weeks to paint it.

You don't have to put vehicles in it really, it's just hi tech architecture challenge.... but judging from your reactuion I think there won't be many participants in it
... as always, when I make up the topic.... ![]()

Who knows how things will look in a thousand years. This is how i see it, pretty grim took about 3hours in corel painter essentials 2 using the wacom. Hello all! I've never done a speed painting challenge before, but I really like this topic and I am on vacation
I've been looking over the paintings for awhile and I do the SMC all the time, so I think I'll give it a try this time. One question: Can it be any version of NYC in 3006, or does it have to have futuristic achitecture? I'd like to do a more pessimistic version, if thats okay... |

well, i accidentally posted this in the wrong forum then realised and deleted it
![]() cant be bothered typing much explanation again, so my picture will basically have to speak for itself i guess you'll either like where i went with this or you'll think its just scribble ... im personally quite happy with the look, although i think the composition is a little hard on the viewer- no real focal point, your eye just skims around crazily- but i suppose thats just a part of it"the sun rises over the polluted and devastated nyc of tomorrow" (about 3 hours in Photoshop 7 with Wacom tablet) Last edited by lone deranger; 29-12-2005 at 10:52 PM.. |

hi guys, i hope youre have a good new year, well this is my second entry, i try to put more effort on it, first i draw in a paper with pencils, and i took 3 hours to do the perspective and buildings all the lines, then i scan it and i color it in ps7 and i took another 3 hours, around 6 hours, i hope you like it
i think not so many things gonna change on 3006, i put some flying cars, and a modern train in this city youc can go to all buildings in this train about, and of course space travels are available, with a space needle, an elevator to the outer space, well this is my explanation, i hope all you guys have a good day and a good new year cheers ![]()

RockstarKate 0- it can be any version of NYC set in the future. I was thinking of purely hi-tech architecture, but you can make it more devastated etc. Whatever you like
Nice posts guys. Artecnl - nice perspective, interesting lens effect. lone deranger - it has something in it for sure liquify tool is a nice thing to use, when you're going into an abstract piece. Cool. ![]() Masumix - I really like the guys in the front. You could work the perspective more, to make it more convincing. Nice entry. -t3d- - interesting idea, I saw similiar in "FInal Fantasy" I'd add a bit more shading to it, to accent the roundness of the copules.
