Take a look at the Version, should be 8.0.0.92 on all of these. Get SP1 or SP2 from Autodesk. Put them into system32 is useless. Check for a clean install without any 3rd party plug-ins, first. Check pathes in "Userpath configuration". Check 3dmax.ini and plugin.ini for curious entries.
If this wouldn't help, I don't know, too. ![]()

i installed it on a formatted drive, and i took all the files that where on the autodesk site.
unfortunately i installed sp2 already - i try to install sp1 too, but i think it wonīt work. the files have the right version number, and they are in the directory - but when they are loaded, the error appears. |

i installed some cebasplugins too, and some of them come up with the same error message. is it because a plugin isnīt compatible with max 8. afaik there is no such error message with an obsolete plugin.
