The Village

Hi all!

I was navigating on google to try to find a reference image, and make a "copy" of it. I've found this image and I like it very much, so I tried to make a kind of stylized version of the photo. I hope you like and make some C&C!

High Resolution

Thanks!

it seems the textures for the roof in the upper-left corner are to tiled.. you can see where the texture repeats itself..

but overall a realy nice render which would look awesome with just a few more adjustments

Man, that's really coool.
I agree with fatbunny() and those dirt maps are in too low res., but it's very professional.

I'd like to see a bit larger version of the original if that's possible.

very good scene and great textures, one thing i would remove from the image is the blurring/dof...it doesn't suit the scene, as you can see from the reference picture.

Yeah, very impressive work

With a bit more texture adjustments/render adjustments, it could be almost exactly like the original image. Another thing I noticed though is that the reference has really soft shadows, yet in the render, the shadows have a harder feel which could be changed to add more impact

Looks like you "coppied" the reference image very well. I would advise you to sharpen your image a bit (for example in photoshop). And maybe change the sky, it doesn't fit the scene lighting in my opinion. Otherwise, I like it a lot

andrewf1, thanks! yeah, i think i overreacted on the DOF.

Kage, thanks man! the reference don't have visible sun shadows, but i put it just for make a diference, cause i want to do like it was a diferent day, diferent time.

Nippur, thanks man! Actually the sky is the hdri that i used to the skylight, but i think it lost a little on the color correction.

But overall, my intention was make like a game version of the photo, that's why i put things that doesn't exist on the original scene (like the sun shadow, the diferent sky).

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the large reference...now how about a wire, lol. Your textures seem...unorthodox...and I want to see how you managed them.

I didnt like the DOF, otherwise looks very good. The texture are to repetive on the "higher" wall. This you already knew, but here is something new. Wrong shading for the tree. Is it just a 2d plane? Then try to make it 3d.....
If the trunk is 3d, does it resive shadows, and does your branches cast shadows? Dont know whats going on...Hmm

Nice render and very close to the ref image.
Make the changes and this is a Five star render

Cheers

I think you have done a pretty good job there, well done

although I think that some textures are way too blurry or is it bcoz of the DOF, dunno but looks pretty Real to me, good work
