Speed Painting Challenge no. 60.

. hello there everyone...hope all's well....

here is the 60th Speed Painting Challenge for u. starts today and ends on the 17th of February, 2007, saturday.

Topic: Robot - Killing machine.

paint a robot with a weapon. go for that paricular desing and look that makes it appear to be, like a killing machine (u can go for the "On the rampage" look/feel). interesting desing of the robot and the weapon would be good to show. do remember to have a design thats logical/workable/movable. i personaly prefer a rusty look sorta thing....

u can submit upto 3 entries and mention the votable one.

voting starts after the 17th of feb, when this challenge is announced "Closed".

all the best... .

Hi all! great topic!

here is my entry:

the design of the head is not mine unfortunately, it's the "ork" head design from the warhammer online game. i just though a modified version of it would fit perfectly into my speedy

4½ hours. Photoshop. Wacom.
inspired by conceptart from "the matrix".

Hah! The topic is very ontime and ontheme with that war going on...
Went for a different twist: robot-killing machine as in -- a machine for killing robots.

attention: THIS ENTRY IS NON-VOTABLE
________________________________________________

vinslikewhoa: a good solid design, nice appealing shapes. Very well done! yet the scythe doesn't look as good, doesn't look like it belongs to the same design either. I suggest you make the stick thicker and the blade narrower (and of interesting shape, perhaps?). Looking forward to what you come up next.

Alletun: Hah! Great work! That's the cutest killer robot i've ever seen. The settings are nice too! Overall, a picture well done, have no idea what could be improved.

Hi Guys,

It's been quite some time since I've got to enter a challenge but today finally I do!!

...but first...

Alletun: Very nice colours, textures and lighting - I like it a lot! Can't really crit!

Vinslikewhoa: Good sketch and concept - looking forward to seeing it fully rendered. As mentioned, I don't think the scythe quite fits in but it's hard to know what would make it look like a "killer"-fairy-robot Maybe some variety of medieval weapon like a spiked-ball and chain could look cool!!?

Insect-3DT: Nice take on the theme and I like how you've included a full description. Cool design and idea

Great topic Waheed - I really hope you'll paint a picture with this theme and post it up for us!
Look forward to seeing more entries.

So here's mine anyway - I didn't have time to put a background in but I quite like it on white anyway.
Photoshop, Intuos3, 3 hrs, no ref

more concept sketches, thinking more swords now than that last weapon, he gives me a nija like feel, anyways heres another sketch, im leaning toward painting a collage of images, of the robot, is that allowed?

uh i know this is a speed painting challenge im not stupid...im only submitting sketches for ideas, i was just asking if the painting could be a collage of images of the robot, still painted. I get the topic i just wondered if there needed to be a background and stuff, because even if its a collage it is a pinting
