Cheetara - Character redesign
Hello everyone, id like to show something im working on. Its a character redesign that i plan to use for modeling purposes. I wanted to try to keep a single thread for everything, but in other forums i wasn't very lucky to get much comments, so ill finish this concept here and start another thread in the3d section. So far im basically working trying to keep functionality on the character, hence i don't want any fancy widgets or too extravagant weapons, trying to not get too far from the original concept, which was rather simple, but efficient.
Mainly, she will keep her staff, and ive thought about some melee, claw-like weapon (just a random sketch so far), along with a more sophisticated look overall. Any critics regarding both concept and technique are very welcome. With this i want to practice a full character design workflow, from scratch sketching to final 3d model completion. Hopefully ill make it XD. Thanks for viewing. Heres the current state of my 2d concept:

A small update on the boots, also scaled down the head a bit vertically, it seemed a bit big in that direction. Id really appreciate some c&c on this. Im willing to improve this in any way i can. Im thinking something doesn't fit between the dress and the boots, but im not sure if its only color-wise....

Great job coloring the dress as for the actual character u need a little better color in there to really make it stand out. Also in the way she is posed at first I thought that the dress was really somekind of suit with only one leg. Good choice on scaling down the head vertically and just keep working on it and posting updates

Thanks for the comments. Im not very experimented in coloring or drawing much farther than sketching, so it could seem quite plain. Ive been checking several tutorials about it and ive found that keeping outlines isn't always a good solution. So ive tried recoloring some areas looking for that kind of outline that shadows can offer, which looks a lot better than the black line, and also ive tried to bring out some volume with highlights and shadows, as well getting all the outlines out. Ive noticed her ribcage might look a bit too defined and wrongly made XD, so ill work on that as well, and getting a better definition on her waist. Ill see what i can do.
Also, its actually a suit with a single leg, but maybe it was a bit confusing, as you felt it, hopefully with this new version it will be celarer . Thanks for watching, and im hoping for more c&c.
