Some of character
Hello folks,
I'm french, I work as a 3d artist for real time. Here is one of my personnal work. This character was made with Maya. I did it in about 20 hours. Includind the skinning ( wich is not really done ). I'm happy to show it to you. I'm waiting for your critics.

Welcome!
It has a nice mythological feel to it. Is it part of a story? Also maybe it's just me or the camera angel but it seems like it's right arm, the one holding the spear is smaller\thinner than the other. Nice spear design too.

His right arm is the same than the left, i did a symetry...
Maybe the camera position... That's not a part of a story, just an exercise. I wanted to do a character and his setup in a limited time. Maybe one day. But for the moment, i've lots of others projects to finish... (look at these on my web site : www.zoo-prod@fr.st )

There are about 20K poly. It is smoothed one time, off course I can smooth it more. But If I want to animate, it's more easy with a low model.

Looks good but I guess the model could use some work on the textures. Also the skinning seems a bit odd. Look at his left leg for example. His foot and toes dont seem to bend naturally.

that's 20 000 poly.
The skinning is not really finished. But i felt that i had work enough on it. So i've decided to stop.

Maybe give him more of a reptillian skin texture. I kind of like the reddish color, gives it a traditional devil quality.

What do you mean about traditional devil quality ?
His first texture was red, but i didn't like it... It was too "red"... The reptilian is a good idea... Maybe with bump.... For the moment, i scan parts of my body to use vein or skin parts...

Well they always show the devil as being this Red guy, even more red than your character was. Maybe that's only in the US.
I really can't picture that character as being blue, green, or purple. Maybe like a yellowish tan, sand color would look good. Yeah by reptillian I guess I really meant the scale bump texture.

Yes i know devil is always red... In all cultures i think... But maybe it's time to change !
More seriously, here is a picture with a best texture... (that's my own opinion...) I used anistropic material to give him more ****** colors...
