September 2007 - Todd Groves - Dramatic Sunset

I'm choosing "Alien/Battlefield". This is just a quick Photoshop "sketch" of my scene. I will probably add more details as I construct the scene. But, I think this conveys the scale for now. I'll be combining 3D and 2D elements for the final.

interesting indeed, but pay attention to composition, right now the eye gets 'split' and doesn't know where to look, left or right

Here is the beginning of the "alien-on-a-stick" head. Modeling in modo. He was originally going to be a cyclops, but it was easier just to start the head with symmetry and go from there.

I'm just starting to texture the head. I'll probably achieve the "rips" in the neck with an alpha channel. More details to come.

Thanks, Suirebit. This is just a sketch. The final will probably be dramatically different lighting and composition-wise.

I'm looking forward for updates on this. Somehow I'm quite fascinated with how it looks like. I'm sure it will be cool!
