DWIII - 3D - ianchaos - Mumroo

An alien mercenary race, once held in high regard for their fighting and arcane prowess, began to tire of winning the battles but never receiving the full richness of rewards that they believed was their due. The Mumroo began to systematically overthrow all those who had for so long relied on them as a neutral fighting force they had abandoned most of their own military.

The Mumroo disdain any weakness in themselves or others. There is no room in their doctrine for failure.

Word has reached them that there is a new force on the move in the universe...they look forward to the challenge.

Our numbers are vast...our powers are legendary....we are the Mumroo.

concept coming soon.

Well my sketching skills are quite poor....probably be better off modeling the thing and then creating concept work from that

Here's a head shot.

Alright..had a little time to do a mockup in Mudbox. This is closer to what I'm going for...for his head at least. I'm leaning towards either invoker or Warlord, but haven't decided yet...and no weapon choice yet...and I don't know what type of eyes to give him...just sort of winging it right now

I plan on giving him sharp teeth...and a leather or metal neck corset depending on which class I go with.

Alright...new concept.
I'd like to introduce you to Brother Armalite. Found as a baby on the temple steps of the great god Ur he grew quickly and was raised as a pious and simple monk. As the years went by however the church soon found a better use for a figure of his stature. Head and shoulders in size greater than his fellow monks, combined with his infectious smile he quickly raised in the church heirarchy to a position of General of the Army of Ur.

When he was chosen to lead a missionary force to meet the new metallic beings it was with great pride that he accepted unto himself the the Great Hammer of Ur. In a beautiful and sacred ceremony his right arm was severed above his wrist, and the Great Hammer was merged with his willingflesh.

Brother Armalite now goes forth to welcome these new beings into the open arms of the one true church, and if they are unable to see the rightousness in the Word of Ur then he shall send them to speak with his God in person.

-----If it's possible my painting skills are even worse than my sketching skills, but here goes---

When Brother Armalite is smiling you know he's doing God's work...and Brother Armalite is always smiling.

Gah...it takes just as long for me to try to paint a concept as it does to just mudbox it...

So how important is it to have good concept material along with the rest of the character shots?

He's a mud of Brother Armalite.
