Talking DWIII - 3D - PhxFire - Hadrodon

[MOST CURRENT UPDATE]

Getting Started:

So after everything started to settle in my mind I drew an initial sketch in my notebook. I'm still changing things around because I tried to merge a total of like 8 different creatures, or their attributes, together.

I've decided to go with a Warlord. This creature will be able to climb walls, swim, jump extremely high, and glide...basically go anywhere, fast.

The creature will be that detailed and later be suited with armor. Just ideas still though. Any ideas or suggestions would be a huge help. Thank you.

really cool idea havnt as of yet seen many mounted concepts. great idea having the creature able to both navigate underwater and air / glide. you might want to incorperate into the rider's design, how he / she might survive in both environments air and water.

judging by your sketch may need to budget polies carefully to get the desired level of detail from both mount and rider, though with 9000 polies to play with, I am sure you can pull it off!

really looking forward to your updates

I'm planning on suiting him with straps and armor. Still haven't decided what kind of armor yet...something different than metal. It needs to be light weight, and submersible. So some sort of futuristic metal, bone, padding....not sure yet.

Whatever they are, they can't restrict his movement. I definately need armor plating on his side and head. And I've been leaning towards some sort of fossil bones or something. Suggestions??

Ok, I haven't been able to use my wacom tablet because it's bluetooth, and I seem to have misplaced my bluetooth dongle....so I haven't taken this to the computer yet. But I've really come to a new level of conceptualizing this creature. It will no longer have a rider, after hours and hours of consideration, but will have a parasite that has burrowed itself inside his head having originally been swallowed...

At the expense of deep water exploration, a host has found it's carrier. This host creature is what will bring the lightning portion of its magic forth, as it appears very alien-like (But is actually inspired by a real creature). Anyways, here are a few sketches I got to make today...I added my first set of face armor to the massive creature as well.

I figured since I can't paint right now, I'd start blocking out my model.

It looks like a baby gecko right now.....but soon enough he'll sprout his horns :P

Talking Building a Backstory...

So I started building up the character and thinking why he possesses what he has. And this is what I came up with so far. It's far fetched but I just had fun with it. Since this was supposed to be the Age of Magic, I figured....why not?

But I'm still missing a few details....A name for one. I figure this creature is really old, so he might have gone by a lot of names. But I still like the idea of one.

name: _________ ???
race: Hadrodon (had ruh dahn) "bulky tooth"
class: Warlord
artifact: magic mayan medallion
element: air/lightning

background:

_______ was givin a medallion by a mayan descendant that had come back to help in the times of the ultimate weapon, and had died in battle. _______ saw an apparition on a hill near some mayan temples in the under-mericas. The apparition led _______ through chambers that opened up to a gigantic underground temple. _______ saw a giant pedestal where the apparition went up to and disappeared. The medallion was given to _______ in order for _______ to protect and hide the secret artifact weapon from the machines. The medallion could summon the powers of electricity, lightning and wind that could take out the machines' defense systems. _______ took this medallion to the deepest depths of the ocean to the people of Atlantis, where they suited _______ with armor that fixed the medallion directly on the giant's head. For they too, the Atlantians, had secretly been plotting their attack against the machines for ages now, and saw fit to add another worthy ally to have on their side. But a circle of corrupt Atlantians wanted the magical mayan stone for themselves. For they too had some secret weapons that would work flawlessly if this medallion were to disable the machines before their attack. So when _______ was going back to the surface, the corrupt circle sent a nasty little mind creature ahead of _______ in order to follow and warp _______ under their control.

The little mind assassin went ahead of _______ in order to set a trap. It found a giant squid trying to hunt for its meal and got swallowed by it. Once inside, it tore away at the squid's insides until it was hollow and lifeless. There it floated until _______ swiftly past by and snatched the raw carcass. The little creature had infiltrated its target and been swallowed by _______. Once inside _______'s mouth, it attached itself to the roof of the mouth. There it started tunneling itself deep into the mouth tissue. The little creature secretes a chemical that numbs the tearing, kind of how mosquitos secrete a numbing solution while inserting their needle. But sure enough it created it's own little nook to safely perch in. From there it could turn around and pick off any fragments of food that pass by on their way down the giant's throat. But after it's had it's fill and recharged its energy, it turns around and continues tunneling until it reaches the brain. The little creature taps into the giant's cerebral system and can choose when to override it to be under its control. Once done, it goes back down the tunnel and starts reinforcing the walls with another secreted chemical that becomes a solid transparent gelatinous goo once it gets outside this little creature's body. So it now builds its reinforced tunnel that goes from the roof of this giant's mouth to the back of the giant's brain. _______ has become a host creature weilding unstoppable air/lightning powers and immaculate custom made battle armor.

This is kind of what I'm thinking for the mayan artifact. Except it will have lightning bolts and wind as the picture theme. It will be fixed in the center of the 3DT shaped triangle. :P

I want to see more of that armor. Has a nice design to it. Are you going to add a saddle, or is the rider just kinda hanging on?

To Miss Mikame, that totally rung a bell as soon as I read your post....If i would have thought of that earlier I would have probably added wings as well too!! haha. But that will help with visualizing my armor now, Thank you for the suggestion. To goat-3DT, I've decided to ditch the rider altogether. I figured I'd spend my resources elsewhere. On the the little simbiote-type creature that can control, and basically ride him, just in the ****-pit instead,

:Peace
