I love the idea of Modo. The stupid demo didn't work on my machine though, and then my trial ran out, so I never got a chance to even try it.

That image is very nice though

Is that geometry or a displace map or similar?

Thanks chaps.

The ball is geometry. I simple geosphere (or tessalation sphere as modo calls them). A bit of bevelling later and hey presto. It was more an excercise into how the shader tree works on Modo. I've done similar with Max before but Modo's WYSIWYG output is brilliant and made it much easier to get the look I was after.
