DWIV - 3D - redonix76 - Animus
Here's my entry t the war. Wanted to have a mount this time around. Animus is a Prince with Dark powers. I'm happy with the mount but still deciding on how Animus will look. either slim and sickly or big and buff. I'll need to balance the character with the mount so the main interest is not drawn to the mount.
Thanks for stopping by!! ![]()

Update 01
Started on the mount first. Need to add a bit more detail on the creature before getting him into Zbrush. Also want to finish modeling all accessories for the mount before starting on Animus character.
Thanks for stopping by! ![]()

Nice work so far. I think maybe you're dude could be a little bulkier in the chest area. Not much, but those horns look pretty heavy, with a larger back it'll help settle his pose, make it look like he's not going to topple over so much.

Nice, great to see a mounted character, one of the few I've seen so far. Ichiban's right, the silhouette in the side view is great.
For Animus, since you're torn between buff and sickly...how about "svelte"? ...so he still looks healthy at the very least, and powerful to an extent but still contrasts in terms of mass to the mount. I wouldn't get too into the details of the mount until you've got the rider at least as far along as you have the mount now, that'll make easier to manage the budget, its not so much fun squeezing both into the same budget. Anyway, nice start I'm diggin' this one so far! ![]()

Ichiban - Thanks man!
Puckducker - Yeah man I hear you on that. I do feel like I need to bulk him up a bit mroe to balance him out with the horns. Warlock 279 - Svelte does sound good. Although I may have to go a bit more than that unless I make his horns smaller. I'll do a silhouette for Animus today to get a better idea. I do agree that I should concentrate more on Animus and not the mount right now. I got what I need so far from the mount so now I can concentrate on Animus, thanks!

yay for mounts! Cool idea, althoguh at this point he looks kinda cute more than dangerous. Need more fangs and dangerous bits.
THe overal shape of the mount is great.Try a bulked version of the prince though, that might convey more damage ![]()

Is this the concept for the "rider?
in the first sketch the prince looked like a kid. a bit thin and small. a young dark prince riding his slave pet. and his darkness growing and evolving sometimes evil behind a "cute" mask is more scary and dangerous than a huge creature with sharp teeth ![]() REDRUM |

Ichiban - thanks for the input. You know what you said was very enlightening to me. The whole spoiled young prince with his pet sounds very realistic, unique and powerful. I'll get another concept going to compare the two. Thanks again!

OK guys, here are the 2 different ideas. big guy and small younger guy. The big guy would obviously be shrunk down a bit to fit on the mount better, which will make the mount look huge (a plus i think). Smaller younger guy will fit just fine on the mount but the mount ends up looking like a horse size creature. What do you think?

Awesome man. That's what I'm talking about. If you go with that idea you should work on the face expression, to give an devilish look
, good job |

Ichiban - That's a great idea!!! make him really prince like. I was thinking of maybe a fancy neck ornament kinda like Egyptian style that goes up the neck. Thanks!!
