Wow, fantastic topic, i did not think you would be able to have anything better than the dragon comp but i cant wait to get me teeth stuck into this one.
Ive never really done any hard surface modeling in zbrush so this should be interesting. Woohoo, lets get started ![]() Last edited by darkmonk; 19-06-2009 at 01:33 PM.. Reason: spelling mistake :D |

Well I wanted to finish off my Dom War demon, but I guess he will have to wait. This looks like too much fun to pass up.

ok this may seem weird to say, but why is the basemesh for a creature competition a human body. just curious and slightly concerned

It's a human body because I felt you could transform the human into a beast if you so choose to. However, if you consider it doesn't work well, I'm open to a base mesh proposal, so there's an option between human hybrid and beast hybrid.

Awesome subject!
But very difficult too, the mix of organic and non organic is not easy to do!

Big thanks to Gnomon for sponsoring this competition and inspiring this brief! Let's impress them by showing them what we can come up with here at Threedy! Remember they'll be checking this out, so now is your time to shine guys - we look forward to seeing what you come up with. And don't forget to check out that DVD over on Gnomon, it looks awesome and we're pleased to have Gnomon sponsoring this challenge. Good luck to all who enter!!

hardtrack: go and have a look at some old speed sculpting results. Especially the manimal challenge - I believe this is the same mesh provided for most everything so it's definately doable. 8 hours is a lot of time as well.
Well done, threedy mods, on hunting down a prize and creating a great topic ![]() I see there's already 40 people here looking about so it seems this could be a big one. Just hope ced doesn't show up or we're all hosed ![]() |
