TheSaraf - The Lost Jungle
I googled a few interesting photos and played a little with them in photoshop, trying to make something usefull for this competition. I´ve hit a dead end because it does not look like a jungle at all.
It looks more like some old european forest. I´will play with it a little bit longer and add some more elements like ruins and such to see if it takes me somewhere. There are just to many branches to mask and integrate architectural elements. Thats what happens when you start a matte without concept or general idea. You become a slave of ref photos . If you have some ideas where to take this one, please tell. ![]() ![]() This is a final result of photo manipulation ![]()

Pretty cool effect although I would call it finished, there's alot more you could add into this scene yet including rock elements, lighting etc, but impressive so far

Glad you like it Olivier. Here is a little update with a little more jungle feel to it. I am not shure should i go with this one or the first one with more rocks. Hard to decide.
Just rough integration and composition test. Ancient ruins to be added.. ![]()

Cool stuff on the latest one. The first one was interesting but the second clearly could be interesting. The pillars look a bit to sharp though...

Nice update, you have your scene already.
Too much rocks ? your talking about the pilars ? It's really up to you... how do you feel your matte... depending of a lot of points : where and how you will build your aztec temple/city, additions of wild jungle and water, if you will use this pilars for architectural additions, etc... the truth is that you have to try for knowing if your comfortable with it or no. but clearly with your addition in the background, we can feel more the jungle. your are in the good way !

Nice concept and update. The waterfalls make a neat visual path through the image. I personally liked the rock on the left, that you removed.

Didn´t touch this matte since last sunday. Here is a little update. Just added a castle and played with a mood a little. I must think of something to place in foreground and then start to blend and balance the colors. I know it´s too dark now. I will change that later of course.

I realy don't know about the church, but I like its structure.
Your waterfall add-on it's cool. And I also don't know what to think about the two rocks in the middle. It depends really in what you plan to do with it. Let's see. Very Good work for the moment. I like the scene, the mood.
