Arrow atulkatdare_The Lost Jungle

hello frndz,

this is the second time im posting my matte on 3dtotal competition. i got to learn a lot frm you guyz in the previous challenge & ur comments did help me to improve my work & did boost me to participate again! so here i go for ' The Lost Jungle' theme...
[i know its too late but i was very busy for last couple of weeks @ my workplace so could not find enough time to work. i started this a week back & i wish i could finish it before the deadline.]

concept: tried to create an old, abandoned indian temples which are lost in the dark jungle and bit neglected by the citizens. however there is something mentioned in history regarding this place that it has a vital importance in ancient time. this attracts the sadhus (hindu saints) to visit this place for the hard course of worship. [still to develop further part of mystery]

here is the reference sheet:
jungle, abandoned temples etc.

other details, tree trunks, roots, animals etc.

edit: reference sheets n concept development

Hey,

nice start, keep it up.

Be careful that it's not getting too overload.
For the next time I'd suggest that you make some kind of concept painting in the beginning to work out the composition.

good luck!

Also be careful with the lighting. The direction of the light in the left and right ruins are different. It will be difficult to fix these things once you have worked in the matte.

Hi atulkatdare,

Nice progress so far! As for critique, I feel that, currently your matte has more monuments than the jungle; you might wanna' increase the density of the jungle, by adding trees in the foreground regions! Good luck!

Thanks!

You did a good job with assembling all those references with fitting light conditions and perspective. Still needs a lot of color correction tough. And as I mentioned before I think your image is much too crowded now, there is just so much stuff in there and no spot for the eye to settle.
I'd suggest to get rid of some structures or scale them down and put them more in the background, keeping in mind the composition. Then do the color correction stuff and try to introduce a consistent mood.

Good luck.
