Chronicles of Nerm Stills

Here are a few stills from the animated film I'm doing, 'The Chronicles of Nerm.' I took about a year off from working on the animation to finish up my first live action film, 'James vs Reality (shameless plug: http://www.vimeo.com/15135199), but now I'm back on Nerm.

I've been working on this animated short for almost six years now, and I'm finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm hoping that in a year or so, I'll be able to wrap everything up on it. I have a few celebrity voices on it, including Zoe Bell (one of the leads from Tarantinos Death Proof and a few other things).

These are all stills from the actual animation.

Oh, nobody comments it? This looks great to me. Please post the finished movie on this forum, I think it might be really good thing

Really good rendering - no noise in DOF and MB. Really nice lighting.

Is it mental ray?

It's all rendered in Vray.

that'll be why it's taken so long then

but seriously - It's looking great and I'm glad you're still up&running, I've been aware of it for a couple or three years and occasionally wondered whether it'd finally driven you mad or not.

I have huge amounts of respect for your perseverence and stamina, the thought of working on the same project for anywhere near that length of time makes my brain hurt.

I can assure you that rendering has been a minuscule part of the process, time wise. Vray's treated me well in the project so far!

Thank you so much. I haven't gone mad yet, although sometimes I feel it coming on. It's a ton of work, but it should be a really impressive piece when it's finished!

I've been creating shots inside the bar in my Chronicles of Nerm film for over a year now. With all of the bar scenes finished, I'm moving out to my Main Street set! I've spent the past few weeks getting the set up and running, getting the lighting right and getting characters set up in the scenes. Here are two test animation shots showing the new environment I'm working in.

yeah ive been following this for years to i modeled the little robot guy years ago i try and dig him out and post it should be good for a laugh ,glad ya back on it and cant wait for the final animation
