A lot of faceting (I can see edges, so not enough smoothing) going on, and a lot of objects going through the floor.

I can also see stretching of the texture on the first render, especially on the legs.

These are easily corrected though.

You could also do with changing your scenes a bit more; adding variety, and increasing samples at render time

yeah i know.. but technically all excpet the gun are old models.. done on version like max 6... which was a while ago.. i just only recently loaded the models in and rendered out a nice picture with them..

but since this is a growing sketch book.. the new stuff that i hope to develop should look the part..

The main concern isn't the models themselves; its the way they are presented in the render. Check the car tyres for example. They are going through the floor.
As is the skateboard on the lego render.

Surely the faceting can be fixed with a turbosmooth?

I'm sure we'll see you improve a lot more throughout this thread. Focus is key.

You also need to focus more on proportions next time. Like I said before, the M16 is too wide and many of the small details are wrong.
