Maya_baking texture

Hi

I did the tutorial on 3dtotal.com from Julian Jeremy Johnson-Mortimer about texturing and there he describes a very useful way to bake textures. But i Can`t figure out how he did it. I copied the texture file he 'baked' out of his model, how did he do this?

Picture

I need it for my current project, please help ;=)
