First of all, Merry christmas everybody!
With the christmas spirit in mind i thought it would be nice to donate a tutorial, here's a short description of what you'll learn, and a render of the end result!

"With this project you'll learn to model from splines, converting to editable poly and then using additional modifiers such as shapemerge to add detail to basic shapes.
We start by setting up blueprints and then model each individual part of the mp3 player piece by piece.
Once that is done we go on to texturing this in a realistic way, the we apply shaders to increase the realism further.
Finally we set up a convincing 'studio' light setup using mental ray and render the final images, check the result down here."
