Share The Branch - TD Demoreel 2008

Hi everyone,

I'm starting to look for TD positions available starting March 2009. (Ready to relocate)
So here is my 2008 TD Demoreel which shows some of my personal works :

Click image to download the video

The reel shows some integrated tools that is either built using JScript, Python or C++. Those are :
es_FeatherSystem :
A feather system that generates feathers and provide an artist with a friendly interface to work with.
Avian Rig :
Bird rig with it's synoptic property
Wing Rig Automation
Python script to generate Wing rig based on guide

All visual Elements by : Edy Susanto

Many thanks to everyone for their support so that this reel can be done in time.

Best regards,

You actually build that bird rig? If so I'm impressed.

Yeah, some really awesome work. May I ask how long this took you? Just curious.

That's amazing! Is everything automated? I'm just curious to know how easy it is to animate. I know creating rigs using scripts isn't that simple.

Hello everyone,
sorry for the late reply. I experience a tough internet connection last time.

@ avishek : thanks
@ tolae : the feather system took sometime to research, design, and built. About 5 months I guess. I tend to add more and more features to it as soon as the first version is working. While the wing script is done in approx a week in python. well I did a JScript full body bird rig generator before, that's why I didn't find a really big issue during the the python development. Tho there are somestuff changed and added later on.
@ Spiritwave-X : The current rig is not entirely automated. wings, leg and foot is automated, but the torso is not as it's more like a prototype version.
I use another script tto actually assign the envelopes for the wing feathers the first time, but it's not shown in the video as the envelopes can easily loaded back to the mesh using the newly generated wing rig.
I did create a create a few full biped and animal rig generator including facial rig in Sing To The Dawn. Which you can see them in action in the trailer section.

If anyone interested, an Animator friend of mine, Stanley also helps animate the little bird during the development of the proxy res which you can view in his site. stanmation

Again thank you everyone

rgds,
