In the world called Anlusia there's a legend about a being with the body of a man and the head of a lion sent by God to bring His word to the mankind. Gaeros is his name. The majory people of Anlusia faces the story like a myth. Anlusia is a dark and corrupted world. mystical and evil creatures whisper around, the old magic more rare than ever is on the hands of dark necromancers ignored by the corrupted government. Hope is fading. People do not bealive in miracles anymore. No... they are lost. there's no salvation, no mercy for the sinners of Anlusia, no.. they're dead. For this reason the great Gaeros was seen for the first time by the purity of a child's eyes. Representing the renovation and reborn of the faith. And he will light the world with his wisdom and love.
The scene shows when Gaeros appears to the very first time and a astonished little boy watching him. ![]() Last edited by decosouza; 21-02-2009 at 02:30 AM.. |

Well.. I made some progress with the character. The fur looks very strange yet and I'll try to make some improvements and the rest of the body.

Nice one man, as you said the fur looks a little strange and maby you should make some more detales in the face if you are going to use him up close, I´m thinking mostly about the nose.
Anyway looking good want to see more. |

Yeah..more details are coming soon. It was just a test to see how fur will behave. Actually I intent to put some wind and see what happen. Wind does part of the scene and it will be reflected either in fur and plants around the main character. The story of this Avatar is coming with the next post. The idea is not complete in my mind yet.
Thanks for the comment and the tip and good luck! |

Which application are you using?
Please, can you show us more images about the intermediate steps of your work (about the modelling and so on)? I want to learn from you, artists! Many thanks |

Hair and Fur is an amazing tool but hard to render. Maybe I have a bad setup.
Thanks for the words Mr. fE. I'll bring some updates and maybe the final render this week. |

Many problems with the fur setup.. very hard to render! This is a render test. I still have to fix the lion/man's hand and model the sheep-hook. The child's hair will be the last. Just a test for now..

Looking good, man. Excellent work on the lion's head. The leaves of the tree look a little too big and sparse, though.

Jibberwocky: Thanks mate! the head is really giving me a lot of work. About the leaves.. you're absolutely right. I'll fix it. Thanks guys! |

I was working on a definitive background and I think I found it. Special thanks to Vue software!
