Falling with Style

I like the smaller guy, but he comes off as a bit too friendly for a demon. Looks more like a faun to me. Maybe a face more like the big guy on the little guy would add to the meaness.

Sorry for so many messages, but I was thinking also, the front of the prince can be "innocent" and childish and the back (as the sketch) can show the inner monstrosity, some kind of disfigurement or creepy limbs. at the same time the "pet" has to look not elegant, but maybe a beat up pet, wiped an tormented by the prince. maybe the prince is young and his badness is not evident in who he is, but in what he does.
too long keep it up man good luck |

Ichiban - Man, you got allot of ideas!! Thanks for all the help! I definitely want to make both the mount and Animus as evil and disturbing looking as possible.

Hey redonix76!
I love the look of this, the mount is cool! I think it may b the stumpy hands that make him look a bit "cute", if that's what you were worried about. I reckon you can make up for it by giving hima real mean face/mouth/head - that's what will sell it as a scary character. Also a sharp, streamlined look is good - think about all the predators in nature, they have a kind of lean, sharp appearance, everything about them seems to "point" agressively at their prey Anyway, your skills are awesome man! I'll keep an eye on this for sure

Peter_Kasim - hey, man thanks!
Yeah I was thinking of making him different from your usual mounts with demon head or dragon like heads. I was going for like a worm like head with nasty mouth and long tongue. Kinda like those giant worms from the King Kong remake when they well down into the bogs. I'll see what I can come up with this weekend. Thanks again man.

You could always go the Hellboy route and have a crown of flames?

discmage - Thanks for the idea. I'll definitely consider some sort of crown and other types of magical jewelry and stuff.
Here's an update of my base mesh at 5780 triangles. Not optimized of course since it's quaded for Zbrush. I'm looking to drop it down to at least 5000 triangles in the end so Animus and the mount will add up to a total of 10,000or less tris. Looking to bring him into Zbrush tomorrow with all his gear. ![]() ![]()

Looking really good so far! Suggestion: I'd give a bit more width to the horns.

Thanks guys! I'll try to get in another update tonight. Hoping to get Animus completely modeled today.
mr_carl - Thanks man. Yeah, I though him having a smaller horn could make him look more like a teenager, but it ended up making him look weak and cute...I'll fix that!!
