Allright, 11 months later... here I am with an update on this.
Sorry for the long pause, but I lost interest in the armor, ... However, recently a need for a new suit arised for a an upcoming cinematic, and I took this old armor and built around it. Here's the result. Please don't be shy with comments.![]()

Hey Hulahuga!
Well anatomically speaking, there is actually a normal human body inside the suit. This way everything works as it should. I'll see about reducing the proportional effect, though.

Hia Freespace!
![]() If you think of it, a man who wears that much armor (with such wide shoulders) has wider hips and larger feet. Since they are the foundations of your weight.. You know, what makes the proportions look off is the head. And the length of everything in the vertical line. (stomach, chest, legs)

Cool armour design but as Hulahuga said, the torso is too big, especially from the armpit to the hips.
Good to see you worked again on this project. ![]()

hulahuga: That can be true, with the bulky trooper under the heavy suit, but this suit is for a SWAT trooper, and I'm thinkin' you don't need to be a mobile heavyweight to be in the SWATs. I did however bulk hip up a bit and fixed some more stuff for proportions.
McFly: Yeap, I hope I addressed the mismatches in proportion. Rigging him also meant several modifications to the armor in critical places. It's good to know this armor didn't go to waste ![]() Here's some updates. The weapon is currently just a placeholder - it's a weapon from a small game I'm working on in my spare time, and I just threw it in here to see how this guy looks holding something.

Better now. But the feet and hips are still a bit strange though.
I like the style of it overall GJ man!

In eleven month.
![]() Hey Freespace, that's pretty great materials, and I like the soldier and armor as it is (though, I am not compete for anatomy). Did you render this in mental ray? And how would you go with animation? Render to passes, or something else?
