Classicgamer-3DT - Entry #02
Had a bit of free time between client work so made this entry, fairly happy with the results although there's quite a few artefacts here and there especially on the cornicings, maybe more samples would have been better in the GI.
Nothing special, but enjoyed making it. CG.

Hello there,
great topic, had tons of idea running through my head, but finally decided to do something simple as first entry. More crazy idea may come later, we will see :-) Great model and idea Rachel, you always amuse me :-) Simpsons! Excellent touch AndreasOlsen, it looks just like our refridgerator (as far as stickies are concerned :-) ). Nice detailing on the icy-machine ClassicGamer nice, realistic and quite warm picture (despite open fridge :-) ). Like the shadow on the floor - can I see yourlightning setup or get some advice how to do it? I spend like a hour trying to achieve the same, but results were far from satysfying. What renderer did you used? Thank you :-) prophet74 - beer me! Nice idea, I like the whole execution of this thing. Reminds me of barbecue party at my uncle's garden. My only critic goes to the pipe - maybe it's angle, but I don't like the shape of it. I think it should be little smoother. But other than that, great :-) SR_6274 - now that's a really grand fridge. I like how simple it is, with all space being used and that little display in front. Clean, futuristic render, perfect. I have one question - how did you do that chrome material? Is it a texture or shader? I was trying to achieve this kind of look in VRay, but it was just fractal, no straight lines like you have. Thank you! BaZe - As ClassicGamer said, the lightning takes this model to a whole new level. The interior looks great, especially fan. The only critic goes to coca-cola bottle, as it doesn't seem to fit the real one, but hey, it's not about bottles of poisons, so... :-) But for you personal portfolio, I suggest you to tweak it just a little bit Thanks for listening, folks! And my five cents...

Thanks Zlatovous the lighting wasn't too difficult really, I used luminance planes on the windows for extra brightness, a normal omni light inside the room set to about 30-40% brightness to give the room a little bit more depth, then an infinite light with 120% brightness and a touch of yellow colour and area shadows. the rest was acheived with GI, as you can see in the render though I didn't use enough samples and there's some artefacts occurring on the upper ceiling and the bottom cornicings.
I've used Cinema 4D's Advanced Render 3 that comes as standard with Release 11. Kind Regards CG.

The material I used was a mental ray arch+design material tweaked to my likings. It's been a while since I used V-Ray, but have you looked at this site, http://www.vraymaterials.de/ They have loads of awesome materials and shaders just for v-ray. I'm sure you can find one that you would like. The best part about that is you can see how it's made if it's pure procedural.

Not a lot of time this week, but I can't think of the word Refrigerator without thinking of Ghostbusters. I like the idea of some warehouse full of fridges somewhere and one just pops open and here Zuul dialing the "wrong number"...
