yes I agree with you, modeling is fast is intuitive but the render is less good in quality as Vray.
Quality rendering Vray is indisputable, it's true that FPrime is good but it's especially for the work delivered fast but it's far from the quality of GI in Vray.
Just compare these two renders with these softs and we see that vray is to finesse light etc ...
I say this, but I'm lightwaver since version 6.5

About Vray: It's not that hard once you get used to all the technical terms. You only need to know what each settings do. Of course, like all render engine there is a lot of tweaking and testing involved.
