I have to admit - I'm really diggin' this stuff. Especially foreheadache and learning to swim. I like abstract art that's compositionally appealing like yours. I wanna see one of these as big as my wall - that'd be cool.

keep it up

Illustrations by Antievo.

Hi, guys! Recently, I've had some more time to do some illustrations again! Yaaay! Don't really have the time to start any large scale projects, so I figured I'd give 2D vector illustrations a shot again! It's been a while. I'll use this thread to post misc. 2D vector illustration projects. Feels good to do some creative work again! Hope you like it!

Hi there I love illustrations, but all they looks like traced objects... not handmade.

Thanks! Yeah, they are all traced with a plug-in for InkScape by Peter Selinger, namely "Potrace." They are made by using Potrace with different settings and "layering" the traced images on top of eachother. I think most of the pictures I've used are also in my photography thread. I mainly do these to have some large back/white illustrations, made from my own photographs, on my walls

Yeah that's cool but i don't really get why you are showing us these.
There isn't really something to criticize, especially since illustrator has a very powerfull (non-plugin) tracer what needs no real knowledge and makes best results with a few clicks.

Don't get me wrong i don't want to offend you but honestly there isn't much work behind applying some filters to photos.

As Kitana said it's not handmade and i can tell from looking only at the first 2 images.

My suggestion: If you really like the look of tracing then you should develope youre own style in this direction. Not just vectorizing.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, I am aware of this. As I said, I mainly did the above vectors to make som very large prints out of my photographies, which initially don't have the needed resolution for such large prints. I just posted these to start out with. I'll fill this thread with more "hand made" illustrations soon enough. Here are a few quick sketches. A little "project" i had to learn how to mix colors in digital painting. Actually, I should change the thread title a bit.
