Well, looking good, Welcome to the forums!

I do have some tips and advices for you.

the render looks good; but it's easier for us to criticize when we see a wireframe, so we can see how you worked. Just take a screenshot from your viewport, and post it. (This might be personal, I love a good and curvy wireframe without weird angles.)

Also, your pawns are quite small. Is this intentional? usually a chess piece fits in your hand almost perfectly, lengthwise. if you compare the horse to a pawn, the pawn would be as small as a die.

another personal thing: I love to use thumbnails in my post, or fullsize images.

overall, it's looking good, keep posting, and we'll help out when we can!
