Burkhal downtown

Hello together,

Finally, I had some free time to finish this old project of the Burkhal downtown. I primary did this for "fun", but I also sold a slightly different version of this image to a swedish tv company. Modellerd & rendered with Lightwave9.6, no postwork. Thanks for viewing, hope you like it.

If you think the night image is too dark, please let me know

Hi Svenart,

Day render looks great, I like it a lot. Night scene looks good, but it is a lil dark in the street. Maybe adding some lanterns on or by the signs could lightn things up. Just a suggestion. Again nice renders.

that looks really good, and the texture is very well done.

Your series just gets better and better. I think this piece is really cool, and the night version is eerie. Top bar plug

I agree that some lanterns on the street would be nice and atmospheric, as well as allowing us to see more detail in the night scene.

Great looking scene, a few lights on the street would make it pop more in my opinion but overall its well done.

Great work man, I really like the Daytime version. The nighttime is cool too but I feel there is not much interesting contrast to really make it feel alive.

I kind of agree with you here. On a high resolution screen it looks great but on a lower resolution it looks quite plain. Also the stone texture on the lower levels looks like it is too big in terms of how large each stone is, but that's only a minor quibble

Some lightning spread from the windows or from an opened door could do the trick .

Good work overall!

Have you done any post processing in PS or something?

I like it.
In the night scene, if you could throw some lights through the windows on the opposite houses, it might look more real and interesting. also brighten up the intensity of some of the room lights to give some variation. All the best.

thank you all very much for your feedback and ideas. Thanks also for frontpaging

I tried to create the nightimage as dark as possible, maybe on some monitors its too dark now. I will think about maybe to rework this, but im not sure at this moment.

about postproduction... I must confess that I have nearly no idea how to do that well. Can anybody suggest me a tutorial?

thanks again
