the best renderer for animations- 3ds max

hello, i`m a 3d artist and animator, and i opened this thread mainly to hear oppinions about wich renderer is the best for animations in your oppinions. vray is probably the most realistic plugin, but not much animation friendly of course. so wich plugin you guys think is the best for animation rendering? like commercial animations, movies, shorts, etc... and why

aparantly mental ray is great. just fake all the Gi. I used to think you need Gi, but realised if the animation is good, you generally don't realise the lack of Gi.
