I do alot of character sketching so I thought I would challenge myself to not just do a character but also an intricate environment. The first sketch is my idea for the hero to be in a dappled jungle/forest scene in kind of a you're-gonna-get-it-now pose but on the subtle side.

The second one I comped together some reference and part of the original sketch to give myself a sense of scale and shade value. I had originally intended to have sort of a path of destruction through the forest and nothing else but now I'm thinking I may have to at least put a silhouette of the monster in the distance. and there is an indication of another dead/dying guy in the left corner.
