Translating my Monday Movies- Worth it?
Hey Everyone,
As you probably know, I produce weekly 3d Studio Max Tutorial Videos called my Monday Movie Series. Recently, I realized that people from all over the world watch these videos, and oftentimes they may not speak perfect English. Long story short, I found out I can get my videos transcribed and roughly translated but it's a little expensive. I don't mind paying because this is a public service- I want to make sure it'll be useful. Do you think this'll help people at all? Or is it just a waste since anyone that knows 3D also knows English?

I would add a "Would you like to see this video in another language?" link with an entry form to specify the desired language. That way you will hear directly from those using the site rather than just getting general opinions and will see which videos and languages are most in demand. That should save you some money and you could set up a donation page to help cover (some of) the cost of getting the translations done.
The request page should probably make it clear that it's for gathering information about whether to translate rather than a commitment to get it done!

Good point, Perv. One thing I should've mentioned is that the cost is mostly front-loaded and incremental languages are pretty much free. I.E. Video->English is like $20 USD while English->Spanish can be done for a small fraction of the cost.
I figured I'd cover English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Chinese to start.

anyone wants to know 3D, has to know English!
and because these are video tutorials, are very easier to understand even with low english level. how ever there are many people they prefere to learn with their own language.

I agree with omid3098. In my opinion, there's a rather small niche of people that do not speak English to some basic level, and work in 3d.
