Looks good. Think u need a more contrasting background. Seems like the character is blending into it too much atm.

Hei Mr. Stoneking,
thank you, glad you love it. The UV Layout as well as the modeling was a pain in the... donkey and were both done in Silo 2. I do like pelt-mappng in Silo but you have to arrange the UVs manually if you don't want to loose too much space. E4sy: Thank you too. Actually in my initial concept the background was reddish but that lead to an odd look with the ice-material making it look almost like lava. Now the blue background adds to the tonal value of the ice. I've put the purple falloff to seperate the character a bit more. |

Sadone: I understand you used the background color to help with the ice, but I wonder if you could try something else. What I have in mind is this, saving out the image as an png file. This would allow you to just save the character and base, leaving the background behind. So you would still get the background color to show in the ice, but it wont show in the saved image.
This would only work if you set the environment to the color you want. I think you have a plan in the background, so it may not work. But you could play with it. If you make changes, don't worry, you can edit your final entry up until the deadline. |
