Solar Ice Drilling Machine - Moleeth
Been a while since ive done one of these.....too long. I have a 3D job now which gets in the way of stuff like this :O.
Anyway not too sure what im going to go for, stuck between a 1 man operated vehicle or a Giant Crawling Ice Drill. Ill come up with something and post W.I.P's here. Ill be useing 3DS Max 2010 to model btw. |

Well havent had much time to work on this lately.
But here is my model 30 minutes in, its basically a giant machine that can drill 4 large holes in the ice at once. The brightly coloured bits are just guides im using. |

Another 20 minutes in,
Biped in the second picture is just to give an idea of the scale. getting the basic shapes done first before detailing. |

Getting Bigger
It's certainly bigger than my design.
I do have to ask if you intend to add additional cross struts between the two main crawler supports? It looks like it would try to snap in two if you turned it on it's tracks. |
