2BIG3k – The Coming of Ice

Hi,

I'm in again too. Hope I can finish it among other projects.

My plan is to depict a Human colony on an icy planet with an atmosphere and radiation not very appropriate to life. But a few meters under the icy surface the radiation decreases. So most of the activities are going on under the surface. Human light sources under the surface will make it glow in some places. The constructions in the crevasse are just bridges. At daytime solar collectors provide energy and special constructions (still to add) gather the small existing cocentrations of oxygen.

Cheers,

Marc

You should also rotate your image a little bit.

Thanks. I don't know about the atmosphere yet, but i'll get there. Some sudden inspiration will tell me.
You mean rotate it even more?

really nice mood, I like it. I would redo the foreground though, the way cliffs combine is not natural/confuses the eye. also pay attention to black levels.

Also too many identical moons make some unique planets/moons

Thanks for the feedback, I'll think about how to improve the fg crevasse. The moons in the previous update are just dummys, I'm still trying to find a good balance.

Update: (some buildings are off in perspective, will be corrected )

what I would do is crop the image in half and keep the upper half which is more interesting and dramatic and makes it more cinematic

Thanks for the input. I just made it a little more compact, since no wide screen format crop really satisfied me. And I don't want to make it a square. Next I will work on the foreground and the farther ground.
