In the Style of Syd Mead by Agell
Hello,
This is my first post in the forum, consist in the three images ive submited for NVArt challenge this year, the theme: ACCELERATE, images of future Transport: In the Style of Syd Mead. a vision of futuristic vehicles in the style ( both design and illustration ) of Syd Mead , one of the most awarded and talented futuristic designers and ilustration artist in the world ( known for his work in TRON, Blade Runner, 2010 and more) . The first two images were intended to be oposite concepts, one is day image, the other is a night one. The first is a terrain vehicle , the other is aerial one. one is based in mundandane and advertising-like Meads vision and the other is based in Meads Spatial images ( this one also features a custodied young syd mead waiting to take the gyrocopter ). finally ive decided to use the two render engines I use, the first is rendered with VrayforC4D and the second using the AR3 internal engine of C4D. The third image is a quite simple one that ive decided to enter in the last day of the contest, a Zepelin concept were a plasma bean inside the vehicle both powers the back engine and heats the air to let it float. I hope you'll like it as much as I did creating the images cheers, Carlos Agell ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Curare; 12-09-2010 at 01:46 PM.. Reason: add thumb |

Just curious how you ride the first one. Do you lean on top of the wheel with your knees and feet on the rests? No wait, it's not a knee rest but a step to get to the top.
Excuse my monologue! ![]() Second one is my fav too but I'd just say it's a tad too bright for a night scene.

Really amazing work you have done here. I am also curious about where would driver sit in the first one. I noticed the wheel looked like it could move without shifting around the frame.

![]() Thx guys for the comments and for the welcome! The second one is my favorite two . About how to ride the GyroBike, i guess is as difficult as it was with the first old bikes ( known as "Penny-farthing" ) in which the design of the vehicle is based on ( the only difference is that the gyro bike can keep it vertical and stable thanks to its gyroscopic engine) . I have another approach to this theme in this design:http://curaremac.cgsociety.org/gallery/348740/ cheers, Carlos

Thxs again for the nice comments
Quote:
The idea for the look of the pilot was to aim for a retro 70's style similar to the one used by Syd Mead in his works, I know its not everyone's cup of tea , thanks for comment!cheers, Carlos
