a month of speed modeling is behind us, and i just got one question/proposition

new key features are a mandatory beauty shot and public voting.
due to the fact that people like shiny and cool things, and are not overly troubled with mesh, pinches, workflow, and modeling techniques in the speed modeling challenge criteria it's almost impossible to do the following
see that it's 3 hours to the deadline, model for 2 hours, render for 1 (clay, wire and beauty) and still be able to show of your work in comparison to other...

To some this may not seem as an important issue, but it's speed modeling, take JAPO for instance, i almost always expected a last minute entry from him. And that's speed modeling to me, 1 minute before the deadline, and someone posts a great model.

Now question being raised is what with the artists/participants who enter and make WIP thread with all the building parts, and that meet the necessary entry standards - clay, wire and beauty (or at least one resembling a beauty)?

My suggestion is that those participants should be able to have some added time just to post another beauty, or another composite of different angles etc. This although complicated for the thread to be closed and votes to start the very second the challenge ends, would prove a leverage to those that speed-ed their way into a SMC.

If it was only the judges that voted on, this would not be such a big of an issue, as the public vote makes it.
