Pables 2d thread
Hi threedy, this is the first 2d work I publish here on the net. I haven't painted anything for at least 4 years, but I thought it was about time to start paiting again, so here we are, I made this portrait of Clint Eastwood in about 2:30 - 3 hours so I think it may be considered as a speedpainting.
I used as reference an image from google, but I didn't overpaint the image. I first painted a gray scale image, then applied some subtle colours over. Hope you like it. Any comments or critics are welcome. Ps: You can find a bit larger resolution at my blog.(See signature) |

Hi here is my first upload this week, a portrait of John Noble, this time is a bit more detailed since I spent 5 hours on him. Hope you like it.

Thank you Baldur!, glad you like them.
I'm using Photoshop and my Wacom bamboo. I would like to also try Painter and Gimp Paint studio. In the next weeks I'm going to paint something with traditional oils (I mean not digital). |

Thanks Vitrux! I like to leave my paintings kinda unfinished or undefined, that's te case on Clint's portrait. On the John Noble's one I spent some more time on it, and thats why it is more defined and detailed. Thanks for your comments.

Very nice portraits and easily recognizable faces. I do think you shouldn't leave them unfinished. Right now thats my feeling, that you finished the face and forgot about the rest of the image. Keep them posted, very nice job

Washka- Thanks mate. Yeah I must work on hairs, they really look like implants haha.
Avatar- It's kinda hard. I don't like to paint all totally defined, I somehow like the sketched look. But as you say it may look like unfinished, I will try to improve that on the next paint. I'm leaving for holidays! yeah! So I should be back in a couple weeks. Thank you both for your comments. |
