Decided to create a new thread, as I have basically started this from scratch for those that remember it. Wanted to finish this before the new Xbox arrives lol! I'm so glad I'm back in modeling, as its took me a while to get back out there for some reason, but I'm back now. Now I've gotten the hang of Modo completely (I'd hope), this will be a test of my skills

Lets just say, Kage is back from the dead:


This is made in Modo 401, and I believe the last one I made in Max was innaccurate in the shape when viewed in camera, due to some FOV issues I've figured, but yet it looked perfect in the Front view.

These issues have now been corrected with this new mesh I'm so happy to say, and this is a render I finished this morning (took about 5 minutes)

I hope you like it, and the mesh will come as well soon. I just wanted to get this out there



Starting work on the back now. I'm going to leave the buttons until last as I know the shader for those are going to be a pain to get right.

Just a quick update Didn't want to update without any real changes.

Not had as much time as I'd like to work on it, with work, and procrastination I try to keep at bay. I'm having issues modelling the back portion which I don't remember having when I modeled it in Max all that time ago, so I may have to load the model up and check how I modeled that portion tomorrow.
Getting me slightly down...

Hey Kage. There are good days and bad days in modelling too I guess so if you can't model a portion, move to another one ... or procrastinate!

There's some pinching inside and on the edges of the holes located on the right hand side.

Yeah I know, but it does get me down when something isn't working as intended and I can't seem to get my head around how to do it either.

As for the pinching, that is just the lighting I have on it at the minute I think creating a shadow. The bumps around the holes are in fact meant to be there. They probably aren't as big as that though. I'll have to check on it.

Finally managed to find some time to work on this. Finished the bottom portion (might tinker with it a bit still).

Now just the back to do... Its the thing I've been dreading but better get it over with.
Then oh yeah, the buttons... the buttons...



I also understand that the latest variants of the controller have a reflective Xbox logo, instead of a textured glossy one, and instead of "Microsoft" at the top, it simply says "Xbox 360".
I plan to make changes and create variants of the controllers from old to new.

I want to thank 4mat for his great chip tunes that have made me keep going with it

Looks great, the only thing I can think about is that the hole for the "B" button is a bit deformed.
