Humanoid Lion bust

Hi there,

I started to Sculpt an old Model of mine which i originally made in 3ds Max but never finished it. (its from 2008 )

This was my initial Inspiration. I think it was on the cover of an digital Magazine, sadly i don't know the artist

So here is the Image from 2008:

I did some Mesh clean up and started to sculpt the basic proportions in Mudbox.
I noticed that i downgraded the Jaw area somehow ... i think an in between from the two would be nice. I am also not really satisfied with the new cheekbone, but its late and i need to sleep

Hoping that posting this stuff will help me working continuously on my Sculpting skills.

c&c are very welcome

Greetings,
Hangs

@newhere: Actually your right but I used some Lion pictures when i started the Model in Max ^^

@paulius-st: Thanks for the over paint, some nice ideas you have painted there. I am not sure where to go with the hair, maybe he only gets some more Panther ^^ like fur later in max. I think i should spend some time on a raff sculpt for the hairs to see were it will go.

I have to do some minor retopo next, learned ngons are bad EDIT: i ment vertices with more then 4 edges connected to them, not ngons

Here is what i got so far, mainly reshaped the overall form.
Didn't took paulius-st ideas in count yet.

Greetings
Hangs

Hi everyone,

Today i found a couple of hours to work on this sculpt again.

Finished the Retopo, and did some changes to the eyes and eyebrows. Tomorrow i will detail the faicial hair and either do some overall finer details or making the hairs on the head.
For the Hairs i will make an Extra object.

Greetings
Hangs

I like where you are going with this. The side view looks right on target but I think the eyes are a little to far apart and it's throwing off the cheek bones a bit.

Keep updating, I want to see this done. Good updates.

Looking good, but apart from the ears there's really nothing there that points to him being a lion man anymore. Closer to being old shrek. I'd consider giving his nose a bit more of a catty look. Doesn't mean turn him into some fruity avatar critter or anything, but he's too human imo.
