kitchen scene

Hi
Posting this image , need suggestions to make it better, having problem with light . it looks natural though . using max 2012 and mental ray . any suggestions welcome .

at first glance i think it needs stronger shadows, and more contrast, but i am in no way the one to ask how to fix it, i use maya and i suck at lighting.

I agree, sharpen up the shadows a bit and with the specular on the floor, I think there should be stronger reflections as well.

Looks great, I really like the ceiling, it looks natural. I like the reflections on the floor, but they may be a bit much, lower the reflection amount a bit and it will be golden.

Only other hard core crits I have are;
-the burners on your stove top are hard to make out, looks like you have none
-your espresso/coffee machine looks really bland compared to the detail in the rest of your scene
-possibly add some molding to the bottom of your walls to add minute break up of the wall paper meeting the floor.

Looks great, I look forward to your finished work!
