Saw the Avengers today. The film was pretty awesome, but there was no 2d screening around here. i really hate 3d cinema, the glasses are crap, you can barely see anthing when there is bright shine stuff going on. i missed almost half the movie, cause i couldnt see whats going on, due to "double images or ghost frames". this really sucked, it ruined the experience for me.

Saw Avengers Assemble a couple of days ago and it was pretty good. The problem is that it's a little bit unevenly paced so it sort of drags along for the first half. Once it finally gets going it absolutely rocks

Yeah it's a strange one it's up & down pacewise in places but I LOVED it, saw it opening day last Friday in 3D.... luckily for me the glasses worked ok & I could just enjoy the movie. The Hulk in this film is perfect, probably one of the best i've seen. There was a very funny moment that made me laugh out loud between Hulk & Thor that I loved too.
Will definately watch in 2D tomorrow I think to see anything I may have missed in the 3D due to those silly glasses..... to be honest there was only a couple of shots in the film that were obvious made for 3D effect style shots, the movie didn't need to be 3D in my opinion.

The Hulk definitely had the moments in the film. The Thor bit was very funny although there was more of a laugh from teh room for his other comedy moment (trying not to spoil the moment!) in the battle
I watched it in 2D and didn't feel like I needed to see it in 3D afterwards

Odd, but I still don't think 3D is suited to the FPS's in cinema; they are far too slow to be smooth to the eye I agree.
As for the 3D in Avenger's. I'm guessing its a post processed effect and wasn't actually filmed in it? Will explain the lack of depth. I'm seeing it in 2D for sure.

Well, it seems I will have no choice but to see Avengers in 3D this Friday. I hate it when our cinemas force this on us. Damn it. I really wanted to see this one properly, in 2D.

Yeah itīs a real shame that you are forced to see - or well not see it - in 3d. i took my glasses off very often, and in a lot of scenes it was ok without em.
i will definetely download it asap, cause this movie owes me money!

I just saw it!!! Epic film!!! One of the best I've seen in a while to be honest! Funny in the right places/a lot of action/makes sense.
Where I saw it, you could either see it in 2D or 3D, but the 2D showing was 40 minutes later so I ended up seeing it in 3D. No problems with ghost frames, double images, etc. Can't say I ever really witness them in 3D cinema. I do witness juddering on fast scenes though due to the frame rate of cinema itself not completely solidifying the 3D experience. The 3D experience did give some things more depth, but it wasn't make or break. Seriously worth a watch though!

How are the night time scenes with the 3d? Can you discern anything at all? I've got tickets for the 3D premiere on Friday.

in my opinion - the darker the picture, the better. As soon as there are bright sptots on the screen, the light gets reflected in the room and on the foil of the glasses as well. that caused- for me - thos annyoing ghostimages. Fast Battlescenes with "īsplosions n stuff" were hard for me to watch /follow. Slow scenes in darker Environmet worked well though.

I will come back tomorrow with the results of my own 3d viewing. Cross your fingers, hope this one's a success.
I've seen a lot of 3D movies, mostly because my cinema complex forces me to, but the only ones I've enjoyed watching in 3d were Avatar and How to Train Your Dragon.
