Texturing Body Objects
Hi,
i got a Problem with texturing a Body Object. I imported an IGS File to 3d Max Design 2012 and the whole Geometry is visible in my Viewport and on my render. If i assign a Material on it...some parts are not visible on render. They semm to dissapear. I already checked my Workflow an it seems that IGS seem to be problematic in 3ds Max... any hints how i can textur that body object? |

Sounds like some faces have flipped normals which you can fix pretty easily

Indeed...some normals were flipped. I tried to adjust normals by using an modifier to give them all the same direction but it doesnt seem to work.
Of course i can flip the normals by hand and click all of them...is there a simple way to flip them all in the same direction if the modifier does not work? |

before fliping any normals try detachimng everything as clone and delete the problematic mesh . and then if needed flip normals.

its probably completely knackered in terms of scale and normals
do the following reset xform collapse turn to poly collapse edit normals > select all, average collapse turn to poly collapse that will sort a mesh out so that everything is scaled at 1 and the normals are all normalised now youre in a position to start fixing whatever problems are left |
