Messing with the basic layers for the diffuse. Normal map came out a bit soft, may go back into topogun with the lambertian setting checked. Additional bump may have been set a tad high in subliminal compensation, will have to tweak that some too.

I think I'd put a bit of volume in the glowy parts. Maybe pushin' in the surface a bit. using slash brush or something similar.
Maybe your idea for it is that it looks like painting and I'm talking too much, but still I'd put some bump on them, specially on the legs and chest because on the back it seems to have some texture already. Nice job mate, keep it on! |

No they are supposed to be like carvings, but for some reason I can't have the emissive up and make them look cut in at the same time. My sculpt has them carved in using the layer brush. Maybe ill add some more bump to pull them in even more. Thanks for the advice.

Been a while since I've updated. I've taken some time to return to the basics and work on some of my fundamental skills. Here's a concept for the next race from the conservative faction; The Drake. This is a female and the male concept will come shortly after.
I will be revisiting the hill-borne conceptually and then start the modelling from scratch. Each time I come close to completing a model, I end up learning so much from the experience that I feel it isn't good enough and that I need to start over XD

Quick WIP of the sculpt. Going to try to work my models with no normal map so the sculpt will just be for retopoing into low poly and as a base line diffuse texture.

Ok, so far, the basic diffuse is all set. Next on the list is to make the armor and fur and feathers and spear (I am toying with the idea of a halberd instead...) Then I can jump back in and bake the shadows onto the body diffuse to bring more depth in.
Hopefully I can get some crits ^_^
