Barbarian, level 22; I'd say 3/4 into Act 2;
Amazing game, crazy cinematics (I won't spoil anything from what I've seen so far); Horrible servers during the first 2 days.

I guess it's not so bad that I have so much work and pretty much zero free time right now. Was really looking forward to spending a weekend playing the game, but seeing how the servers are so unstable, guess I'll just wait a little longer. Might as well buy a new PC before I get the game.

Diablo uses very few resources; I am playing it while the PC renders. I feel no guilt this way

i've had some fps drops. GPU is a few years old. turned down the shadows and everything ran smoothly.
i just finished the normal campaign. and to be honest i'm a little disappointed at the length of it. i plowed through it in maybe 12 hours or so. and from what i remember, D2 took a lot longer. although this might not be the case at all. regardless, it was a fun run. **SOME SPOILERS MAY RESIDE HERE, BE WARNED!!** after a while my character became very hard to kill, tho. i could just dive into battle, not caring what i did, as long as i had an aura active. i just would not die. except on some bosses or some creeps that would basically instagib me. for example **SPOILERS BE HERE!!** izual, one of the final bosses, was harder to kill than diablo. izual would instagib me and a friend. diablo was just a damagesponge. i really hope this changes in the next difficultie levels. we shall have to wait and see. overall, i really did enjoy it. great CG, very nice game art. this has to be one of the first games i have ever seen where i didnt see obvious and ugly mistakes. there were a few, but those were not really obvious. the game felt a bit short, the story was a lot less deep and involving and without a lot of background knowledge from the other games and books, you will miss a lot of the story. they could have done a lot more with the story and it's a shame they didnt. the combat can be very chaotic, boring and unexpected. the complete package is a very solid game with very few marks against it, but the marks that are there, are very fundamental. solid and entertaining gameplay, great visuals, great sound, slightly disappointing story, fairly short on the lowest difficulty.

I have played the game less than thirty hours I think... played solo with witch doctor, level 51. Got to act 1 hell. It was challenging, but then it hit me like a truck at how cooked the game is.
Barring the launch day issues, the lag is still unbearable. You can get the best gear off of the auction house for cheap. PvP won't be out for months at the earliest, and even that is hardly a reason to continue playing. I gotta say, when I played normal I thought the game was great, loved some of the improvements. After clearing it for the second time I realized it has zero replayability. Oh, and spammers and hackers are absolutely everywhere already, and the matchmaking system apparently does not work. Even people with authenticators are getting hacked, people getting chars deleted, all items stolen, etc. I was a HUGE blizzard fan, part of the reason I got into 3d in the first place was one day I wanted to work for them. I am very interested to see the backlash of this botched game within a few weeks. I'm calling tomorrow to try to get a refund since the lag is so bad and such... Hate to be the voice and doom and gloom, but IMO it's only a matter of time before the people loving it now will see it. |

Have to agree with you on some points SarN - AH way is the best way, since bosses are dropping gear you should have had 10 or more levels ago
-- the casual way is the ah way Lag and connection problems are really visible, but since i got the game for annual wow thing, i'm keeping both games as casual as i can, as opposed to wow beginning and my study years...One thing i will get addicted is to Leah - she is so damn fine and her eyes.... captivating to say the least... BTW i found a duck last night in DIII :P |

i have to agree to a certain extend. the lag can be pretty bad. the replayability is mostly down to creating a new char, although, i hope, hell will be pretty challenging. but that is also where my main grievance with this game comes in.
the difficulty curve is borked. normal and nightmare are fairly easy to go through. currently at act 4 on nightmare. the imbalance comes in at unique mobs. these are often times a hell of a lot more challenging then actual boss fights. and this just seems stupid to me.

I'm very happy with how my Barb is looking. Managed to get him from 550 DPS to 886 DPS in two hours today.
