problem

Hi guys

I cannot line up these photos, can anyone tell me please what it can be

I line up the eyes but mouth doesnt match

It is due to the perspective view of the camera, if we could shoot pictures in orthographic view we could get perfect reference images but unfortunately we have to settle with just trying to model it using our initiative abilities :P

You could use the transpose tool in photo shop to alter the pictures to try and line up the major features but in the long run you will have to make the call your self

The reason you shouldn't bother is that you'll end up with a distorted version of the face in one or more axes - not a big problem if you're not attempting to create a perfect likeness but it does often lead to "wrong" looking faces

It's perfectly valid to use "orthos" as a starting point to lay out your basic form but as you move into developing the object you want to be eyeballing the shape based off as many reference pictures from different angles as you can get - there's an awful lot of information missing from front/side views.
