I wanted to convey the mood without resorting to superfluous effects and details. So I was guided by the portraits by Hans Holbein the Younger. I've always liked the subtlety and elegance of his drawings. I admired how he could fill the form in the light without using a contrasting light and shade. I was inspired by transparency and lightness of his works. And I'd like to become closer to his manner in this picture. Because I associate this model with tenderness primarily. |

Great portrait. I specially like her skin tone and the expression of her mouth. Her eyes look very melancholic as well.
