right, been sick for almost two weeks. havent been able to do much. i finally got this one done.
this is one of the three drawings for the admission test. it's the line drawing of a vehicle. i looked up the meaning of the word so that i could see what would and wouldnt be considered a vehicle. according to the dictionary, a vehicle is any means of transport that doesnt involve crawling, walking, running or swimming or the direct use of an animal(sitting on it...). which means, a log in the water is considered a vehicle when used as a raft of sorts. so, by that deffinition, a snowboard is a vehicle. although not very obviously one ![]() enjoy. the phototurned out slightly better then i thought. still crap tho...

thnx cederstrom.
i finally got those scans. the only editing done, is size and color. the building is "the inkwell" or "de inktpot" in dutch. large building in utrecht. the rest is the snowboard, which im pretty happy with and last but not least is a crappy self portrait. still the best one i've done. gonna make a couple new ones over the weekend. wish me luck guys. any C&C would be greatly appreciated.

Looks good
.Would try to smooth the lines out a bit... Use the brush that looks like a series of spots that densifies in the middle... (in CS4)

It's been a long time since i posted anything here. I just handed in some homework assignments i did over the last year. to my surprise and relief, my teacher actually liked them. or parts of them
and that's not too common whit my 2d skills :PThe drawings i made are of an old fortress near my home that has been over overgrown with weeds and trees. there are 2 other buildings. one is a skyscraper near my hometown, the other a watertower. the last drawing is of a birds nest that i found on a treestump, maybe 3 feet off the ground. the assignments were to draw a building, a building with plants and a plant. i like to come up with strange or unusual subjects, so here's to hoping i get a decent grade. but i would be posting this if i didnt want the feedback of 3DT so let loose the dogs of C&C ![]()

Nice ones man
I like that you pushed it almost all the way to black in the first one in some bits, but I think you should push for even more contrast in it (but it is the best piece of these ones ).Second one looks cool too, play with the lightning a bit more, and perhaps think of whether or not you should add a dark partial background to it with a 6/8 b pencil .Watertower is all right, nice likeness (probably) but no shading as of yet so... Birdnest looks cool, the same feedback that the first one received though and the same thing with a background from the second one ![]() GL HF!

cheers hula.
i'm pretty much still a newbie when it comes to drawing. i think the last 2 years i've done more drawing and with more focus, than i have ever before. the watertower was a last ditch effort to make something halfway decent, as i really didnt like the skyscraper. but now that i look at them again, i like the skyscraper better. my teacher had similar c&c to what you said. i've been very timid when it comes to applying more graphite to paper. but i suspect that's due to a lack of experience. i'll add play around with the background in future pieces. these are now in a portfolio at my university, awaiting grading. here's to hoping i get a decent grade :P
