Working three jobs, so I doubt I'll ever get to modelling this one, but I had some time to myself tonight so I figured I'd toss in some concept work that the little thread community here could use for a reference.
Not nearly as cool as some of the professional work out there, but maybe it will be inspiring to someone. I want to see what can be done with it! xxxcubanxxx: Awesome work! looks fantastic, can't wait to see more progress. Just as a shout out (last post on a page can be a pain....) I'll bump your turntable link Quote:

![]() Yeah, tried to repaint that occlusion with slighty coloured burshes, looks much better. WIll stick to that As far as the shield goes, I am pronouncing it finished (for now :-D), here is some pretty presentation sheet

nice
![]() it might be worth darkening down the really bright highlights as they're getting quite close to white and under lighting they can easily blow out - you can see that happening a bit on the right hand side of your presentation shot |

The texture doesn't look overly bright so it must be the spec map. If you make it less bright then it could end up looking more like stone than metal, so maybe a blue tinged colour spec map would help instead to take the edge off it whilst retaining a metal like finish?

tbh i like the metal parts.. now they actually look metal, instead of stone like my axe was. so i'd leave it as it is now :P

the original idea for this thread was to experiment with only diffuse, hand painted or whatever you like-kinda style. to mastering sweet texturing/drawing skills by doing a lot of things relatively fast. the one wep for one week plan was only to motivate us, and getting used to draw faster.
but the "deadline" is not important here. just create your stuff as your sparetime gets it. i would love to spend more time on it, but i can't afford. i constantly have other stuff to do, and it's going to stay that way. so this thing is last priority for me as well. but whenever i have the time and stamina i'll do something here.. |

Well.. I gave myself time to work on this a bit, finally.
Changed the model a bit, added spikes in the front and removed the other two rocks. The texture's 512x 512 and with filtering off. And it stands now at 1.222 tris. Only thing that´s close to being rendered is the cloth though, there's still LOADS that has to be done.

TekNeek i liked it as it was before, with those two rocks, but looks cool this way as well
![]() i won't have time to work on this for some time again, so i'm just postin a shot, where i am now. i'm done with the model and uv, and just started on blocking out te texture.. (model is 1500 tri) Last edited by tsabszy; 22-07-2012 at 11:52 AM.. |

Cordero cool, bro.. cool
the only think i don't understand is the blue thingy and the hanging (?) red stuff at the bottom. or ar those some kind of stones like at the "neck" of the wep? maybe work on those a little more to make them more clearly recognizable. as the rest shows you can do a whole lot better but i love the metal parts! awsome man! like the gradienty stuff too on the blade! |

yeeah I ran out of juice for the sphere and the hanging stuffs there
D I'll defo get back to those and fix them! glad u like it ![]() now here is my concept for the next weapon.. I can move on to 3d from here, so there is no point on detailing this any further.. its pain! ![]() anyway I'll add more leaves probably to balance it out a little bit toward the handle... and those thingys at the end are roots of the rose ![]()
